Project Catalyst Proposal: Flooftopia

• Selecting head shape and editing width, height, and length
• Selecting which ears they want along with where they can be put, within a specific range (want to avoid ears on the bottom)
• Selecting which tail they want and the length of the tail
• Choosing if they want any markings on their Floof such as a star, and more!

Once the user has customized their Floof (NFT) on the website, they will be able to mint their new NFT friend on the blockchain, and that NFT will be used in Flooftopia upon the game’s release!

Team

Coding: Dirk worked for Ubisoft, founded two gaming studios as a Dev Lead, and is currently working as a Technical Architect. He is the go-to guy, well-versed in everything tech-related, with 20 years of experience!

Art: Christian is our Illustrator and UX Designer with more than 15 years of professional work in digital art, gamification, interface- and app design in the industry. Starting as a big fan of the classic “point & click” adventures (e.g., Monkey Island, Beneath a Steel Sky, Day of the Tentacle) on DOS and hoarding tons of comic books, he turned his geek hobby into an ever-expanding full-time job!

Strategic Advisor: Marcin worked in marketing, sales, and project management for THQ, Ubisoft, CI Games, Daedalic Entertainment, and Rockstar. In the past 10 years, he has helped some start-ups in their initial phase, and he will provide additional guidance for Flooftopia, as well!

Game Design: Alex worked as a creative director at Ubisoft’s campus and as lead developer of Faith and Honor Barbarossa. He has considerable experience researching psychological and neurological sweet spots in game-based learning. With over 4 years of experience in game design, Alex is geared to bring the best gaming experience to Flooftopia!

Marketing: Conward is the lead of marketing and founder of Flooftopia! He has been within the Cardano Ecosystem for 3 years. He is the host of The Cardano Convo Podcast, and he is an avid gamer at heart. After noticing that there weren’t any NFT games being built for a broad demographic, he began putting together the ideas that would define Flooftopia!

Together, we have decades of professional gaming and business experience. We know that games are a great way to bring people together and into the Cardano Ecosystem. With this in mind, we will create an NFT gaming experience that caters to all ages and the broadest possible demographic.

We are all avid gamers and want to create an inclusive environment that mirrors Cardano’s culture and environment.

Business Model- Road to Success

Our business model is a hybrid model, as we have already begun to invest our own time and money. However, we also know that additional funding will be necessary to build Flooftopia and bring our target audiences into the ecosystem.

We have begun preparations for this NFT game, including the customization and minting functions of the unique NFTs and game design work. We are working to get to the point of initial NFT sales, which will allow us to gain some financial support from the community. These funds would flow directly into the development and maintenance of Flooftopia!

The future business model will be a hybrid of sales (only cosmetics, NO pay2win) and community-based funding for upcoming add-ons. Later, we would like to add further rewards from running our stake pool.

Besides the initial NFT sales, funding through Project Catalyst would help ensure the phases outlined above can run smoothly until the release of Flooftopia. Our coder, artist, and game designer are already working on the project. The requested funds for a full-scale mobile game are commensurate with comparable project plans. Similar independent projects requiring similar game mechanics to Flooftopia need a budget of approximately $500K, so we are seeking funding to help get this project to really take off!

Short-Term Success After 3-6 Months:
